Chris Caldwell

Chris Caldwell is a higher education professional dedicated to the positive growth and graduation of students. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Whitworth University in 2009 at the height of the Economic Recession. Instead of folding, Chris became an optician and retooled his degree to help fit, cut, and dispense glasses to folks who wanted to see well while looking good. In 2012 he returned to graduate school, and in 2014 completed his first Master's degree in Communication. This degree focused on the intersection of conflict mediation and rhetoric. During his second Master's, Chris was struck by his life's mission to assist students of color, students from lower socioeconomic groups, and first generation students persist to graduation. Upon completing his first Master's, Chris began working at Ohio University in the Department of African American Studies and the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program. He completed his second Master's in Higher Education Administration and has lent his efforts to a wide variety of community building projects in higher education so far. Chris now serves as Tiffin University's First-Year Advisor, Lead and is actively seeking ways to contribute to his new home. If you want to get involved, don't know which way you want to go, or want to talk about science fiction, fantasy, or philosophy give Chris a call.
