Keynote: Former NFL Player Nate Washington
Open to the Community
TIFFIN UNIVERSITY, TIFFIN, OH— Tiffin University will celebrate the life and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on campus Monday, January 15. In addition to breakout sessions, TU alumnus Nate Washington will deliver the keynote address at 11 a.m. in the Gillmor Student Center gymnasium. The community is encouraged to attend.
Washington was an American football wide receiver. Prior to playing for the Tennessee Titans, he was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2005 and holds two Super Bowl rings.
At TU, Washington holds eight individual receiving records. He also holds records for receptions and yards in a game, receptions and yards in a season, touchdowns in a season, career and yards receptions, and career yards touchdown receptions.
King Day at TU
Hosted by students, organizations and professors, the morning will feature personal and professional development breakout sessions at 9 and 10 a.m. Sessions will foster dialogue within topics related to peace and social conflict, civility and compassion. Also included are light refreshments and special appearances by TU’s gospel choir and jazz ensembles.
